RECIPE FOR THE RELIEF OF COLDS AND FLU

I picked up this recipe some years ago at a lecture and have used it on my husband and extended family ever since! Combined with homeopathic treatment it has worked well for us.

This concoction is said to relieve aching muscles and to be ‘diaphoretic’ in other words it makes you sweat.

  • 2 sticks of cinnamon
  • 3 or 4 cloves
  • 2 black peppercorns
  • A couple of slices of root ginger
  • ½ teaspoon of mustard seeds

Add the ingredients to ¾ pint of boiling water and let them infuse or simmer for 5 mins. As the mixture cools add the juice of half a lemon and about a teaspoon of organic honey.

You can add a shot of whiskey if you wish.

Strain the mixture, drink it, wrap up warm and go to bed! It is important not go out and get cold, make sure you stay warm and covered up.
